Hunter Morgan arrived at Eagle’s Canyon Raceway and again stepped up his riding performance at the point and shoot track located in the hills outside of Decatur, Texas. Hunter moved up from 23rd to 15th in overall Expert Points for the 2012 CMRA Championship Points race season by finishing with two top tens and a 4th place during Round 4 in Super Bike B. Hunter’s Endurance Team finished 4th overall. Hunter rode for the first time on the Lone Star Track Days Big Bike Endurance Team. Electronic gremlins created problems throughout the 5 Hour Endurance race for the team, but they managed to salvage a 4th place finish after an extended pit stop attempting to diagnosis and remedy the problem, and completing 119 laps. Hunter Morgan stepped up his riding at the giant Texas World Speedway during Round 2 of the CMRA 2012 Points Championships held this past weekend.   Jim Cambora had reworked the suspension on the Yamaha R6 previously, and some other minor changes to the set up to accommodate Hunter have proven to benefit the rider.  Those changes and working with Bill Syfan earlier in the year at Eagle’s Canyon Raceway,  were illustrated in Morgan’s lean angle, corner speeds and results at TWS.

Hunter’s best results came in the Super Bike C Expert race where he started mid pack and finished an impressive 6th place, his best finish ever riding in the big bike classes, aboard his Yamaha R6.  Morgan had a string of wins two seasons back racing on the lightweight bikes, then moved up to the 600s last season.  ”It has been a big jump from the minis and lightweight 125gp bikes to the 600s”. “The bike weighs more and it took us a few months to get everything feeling right to fit my body, weight, and riding style.”    ”C Mack helped me go over the bike following the last race in Houston, and I learned a lot from him.  The more I work on my bike, the more confidence I have at the high speeds on the racetrack, knowing everything is done properly and has been gone over two to three times with a fine tooth comb.”

Hunter posted on his Facebook Fan Page “It was a great weekend overall. I can honestly say this was the first weekend my head has been back in the game in a long time! and it feels good but I honestly couldn’t do it without the awesome sponsors I have backing me.

Hunter Morgan #59

A last minute invitation to join an Endurance Race Team at Eagle’s Canyon turned into a podium finish for Hunter and his teammates, on Saturday at Eagle’s Canyon Raceway. The Endurance Team Greenlawn Racing from Edmond, Oklahoma, had a rider unable to compete, due to travel problems from St Louis, Missouri to Decatur, Texas. Hunter accepted the invitation with a team he had never ridden with before and was glad to get the added track time. The riders for the Greenlawn Racing Team included: Rich Wu, Anthony Dean Sr., Hunter Morgan, Conner Blevins. Sponsors: Shogun / Brooks Gremmels, Ridesmart Motorcycle School. A tough combination of some of the best CMRA Mini Class riders aboard the Greenlawn Racing Team #39 Kawasaki Ninja EX250 shot the team into the top five overall early on in the grueling six hour endurance, in over 105+ temperatures on asphalt that was around 130 degrees from the baking sun. Greenlawn finished 2nd Overall, and 2nd in the Formula 4 Class in the Shogun Mini Endurance Race Saturday August 6, 2011. Hunter competed in four additional classes on Sunday.
